APS6 Procurement Officer - till 30 June 2011 Job in Australian Capital Territory, Australia

Working within a supportive environment you will:

-Provide, or supervise junior staff in the provision of, high level advice and practical guidance on procurement matters, including undertaking complex probity and procurement compliance reviews of approaches to market
-Undertake or support the delivery of Finance s procurement planning/reporting requirements, including responses to Questions on Notice and AusTender contracts reporting
-Undertake or support to delivery of training and the development/enhancement of templates and other supporting processes and procedures
-Liaise as required with stakeholders (internally and externally)
-Complete Ad hoc tasks, including administration of the Accountancy and Business Services Panel or supporting the provision of financial policy advice, as required
Essential Skills:

-Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
-Ability to supervise and direct junior staff
-Demonstrated analysis skills including the ability to respond to contracts reporting coherently
-Experience in the following areas within the Government sector will be highly advantageous:
Construction Project Management
Property and Facilities Contract Management
Capital Acquisition Projects
Previous experience in a similar role or will be highly regarded.
