A private indigenous fostering agency in the Townsville area of Queensland are requiring an experienced case worker.
Duties include Contact Supervision, Cultural Support, Preparation and Monitoring of Foster Care Assessments.
The ideal candidate will have
Mandatory Requirements:
1) A current Queensland Drivers License
2) Positive notice of Suitability issued by Dept of Communities-Child Safety Services
3) Positive Notice and Blue Card for Child Related Employment issued by CCYP &CG (at own expense).
4) Identify as an Aboriginal Person or Torres Strait Islander.
Selection Criteria:
1. High level of skills and knowledge of current practices, trends and theories relevant to the provision of out of home care services to children and young people.
2. Skills and experience in training and professional development strategies that will meet the needs of all Foster Carers.
3. Ability to take a shared role in communication with Govt. Dept.'s and to network with other Agencies and wider Community.
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as part as a multi disciplinary team.
5. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including assessment skills, negotiating skills, interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
