Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Junior Windows System
Administrator with a minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience to support an experienced Systems Engineer in providing administration and maintenance support of our client's Windows server and storage infrastructure. This includes hardware, software, SOE and updates as well as providing first and second level server support.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
-Manage, support and update the corporate Microsoft Active Directory and associated Group Policy configuration which includes auditing, security groups and privileges.
-Support and maintenance of the server hardware (IBM xSeries, HP Proliant, Dell PowerEdge) and software infrastructure (VMWare vSphere 4, Windows Server 2003/2008, Citrix Netscaler VPX, SharePoint Portal Server 2003, Systems Centre Operations Management 2007) to ensure optimum performance levels are maintained.
-Support and maintenance of the storage infrastructure environment that includes the Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Storage Area Networks, the CommVault enterprise backup & recovery suite and Quantum tape backup solutions.
-Monitor and optimise the performance and alert thresholds of the Windows Server environment using Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager 2007.
-Administer the distribution of Microsoft software patches using Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) and/or Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager 2007.
-Proactively manage user support requests for server support issues.
-Administer and provide support in the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Cisco Ironport e-mail and M86 MailMarshal & WebMarshal environments.
-Assist the business with the maintenance of a variety of applications The successful candidate will ideally be tertiary qualified with Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification and at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, including:
-Maintenance of IT infrastructure, including server and storage devices (Essential)
-Enterprise experience with administration of Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2007/2010 and MS SharePoint Portal Server 2007/2010 (Essential)
-Proven ability to analyse and troubleshoot technical problems (Essential)
-Management of CommVault enterprise backup and recovery solution (Preferred)
-Experience with Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager & Operations Manager 2007 systems (Preferred)
