The Client Our client is a manufacturer of modular buildings for the construction industry. They are currently recruiting a Manufacturing Manager for their facility in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The Role The Manufacturing Manager is required to head a team of manufacturing and production support staff in order to take pre-production, internally and externally designed, product lines and manufacture these to the highest quality, efficient and cost effective manner possible. The Manufacturing Manager's responsibility will require close liaison with departments associated with the business such that seamless transfer from design to manufacture can be achieved. This will included supporting first full production planning, scheduling, procurement of materials, assembly, testing, quality plans, packaging, quality inspections, warehousing and dispatch. The Manufacturing Manager will develop and manage the manufacturing strategy for the whole of the Group and be fully responsible for the implementation of those programs once sponsored by the board. The Requirements * The Manufacturing Manager will act as overall Manufacturing Authority for all company products. * Monitor all manufacturing activity within the business * Devise, develop and establish the company's manufacturing quality plans and procedures. * Monitor and advise on performance of the manufacturing and production quality plans and systems established and through a program of continuous improvement, continue to develop these for best practice. * Create within your team a learning organisation that prides itself on operating to the best International manufacturing and quality principles, practices and standards. * Provide production planning and coordination of all production orders from the company * Be the focal point for all production related issues and liaise with the R&D departments and the rest of the business in order to remedy any production or quality issues identified within the product range. * Be responsible for the overall production quality of all products and will have ultimate sign off. * Manage the interface between Group with suppliers and manufacturing sub-contractors * Meet with key suppliers to negotiate and improve pricing, product quality and delivery * Monitor and measure the performance of all Manufacturing and production by putting in place Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to ensure that it is easily measured and operating at the highest level of quality, reliability and cost effectiveness The Person * Education to a degree level * Experience of managing within a production environment * Experience of leading a Six Sigma or equivalent quality and continuous improvement manufacturing team * Specific experience and understanding of lean manufacturing principle, and high performance supply chains * Track record of success as a high level manager using lean manufacturing processes * Experien |
