Our client is looking to appoint a Design Manager/Design Coordinator to be based on site in Western Victoria on a $200m project.
Your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running and timely delivery of this high profile project.
As the Design Manager/Coordinator other responsibilities will include:
-To carry out design tasks, including reviewing all incoming Client variations for scope and design changes;
-Manage design coordination and ensure design is completed well in advance of construction;
-Managing relationships with design consultants;
-Manage shop drawing process co-ordinating design requirements with Consultants;
-Manage the interface between construction activities and design;
-Participate in negotiations with subcontractors regarding price and terms, ensuring they are in time with design requirements;
-Work with construction team to identify project opportunity and risks, develop strategies and conduct investigations to minimise exposure to that risk and maximise value achieved from opportunity;
-Work with the construction team to manage all facets of the design process to ensure that the design and documents related to the project reflect obligation under contract; To be considered for the role of Design Manager you will require:
-Relevant tertiary qualifications
-Proven experience on large complex Design and Construct projects, ideally in excess of $50million
-Programming - high degree of proficiency in using Microsoft Project
-Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills About the company
