This award winning globally renowned mining contractor is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join their major projects team to manage on site key resource projects throughout Australia. Reporting to the Director of Projects, this role will form an integral part of the leadership team, overseeing mining construction and upgrades in a site based environment. Your key responsibility will be to work with the Project Manager to ensure all projects are completed within the required time frame. Additionally, you will monitor and report on the progress of sub-contractors and highlight any deficiencies. You will also witness, survey or record, as necessary, compliance and fitment of components, compliance with drawings, specifications or standards of the works and of workmanship carried out on site by the sub-contractors. At times you will liaise directly with design, Contracts administration and on-site personnel, including OS&H, Electrical, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning personnel. The successful candidate will have several years experience working in a mine construction environment, preferably within Australia. Ideally, you will have come from a mechanical background with a solid understanding of budgeting, scheduling and on site logistical requirements in a mining construction environment. You will be able to work autonomously as well as collectively part of the management team. Your well-developed people management and leadership skills will be used to drive staff across project planning, performance, and delivery to ensure positive outcomes. Identifying potential issues and being ready to adopt a flexible work approach is critical as well as your ability to understand the big picture and to develop a consistent and systematic approach to site management.
