-Protected Clearance Essential -Central Location Our client, a high profile government department, is currently seeking an experienced APS 5/6 Management Accountant for a 6 month contract initially to commence ASAP. As the role will be advertised next year, there will be the opportunity for the permanent role. Whilst working within a supportive and friendly team, you will be required to: -Assist with preparation of management reports -Preparation of month-end accounts, budgets and forecasts -Complete project expenditure reports -Identify opportunities for improvements in budget and financial related matters -Provide advice and guidance on financial matters to staff in the branch as required -Other duties as required The successful candidate requires: -A current Protected security clearance as a minimum -Experience in the key duties above -Relevant knowledge of and experience in an accrual accounting environment -Exceptional communication skills -SAP systems knowledge Candidates with tertiary qualifications in Accounting or related field are highly regarded.
