This Mid North Coast facility requires experienced Emergency Medicine staff.
The successful candidate must have recent demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine, covering the full spectrum patients, adult and paediatric, encountered in a Level 5 Emergency Department operating as the regional rural base hospital.
This hospital has 161 beds and four theatres. It provides 24 hour Emergency Services, Critical Care, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Medicine, General and Vascular Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Paediatric Care and Mental Health Services to the people of the surrounding areas.
It is based in a small city which is approximately 350 km's North of Sydney and has a population of approximately 40,000 people. The area boasts superb beaches and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Popular with outdoor enthusiasts, this area offers sailing, kayaking, surfing, paragliding and bushwalking. Wildlife lovers will not be disappointed with koala's often found hanging out in your back garden! Selection Criteria: -
To be considered for this opportunity you will have the following:-
* Recent demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine, covering the full spectrum of patients.
* MBBS
* 12 months clinical experience gained within a country with a comparable healthcare system to Australia. Comparable countries are:- UK, Ireland, NZ, USA and Canada
* Hold current registration or be eligible for registration with AHPRA
* If your medical degree was gained in a country where English is NOT a native or first language you will be required to take an English language. Accepted English language tests are IELTS (minimum score of 7 in each category), PLAB, OET and NZREX.
