Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Junior SQL Server Database Administrator with a minimum of 1 year's Microsoft SQL 2005 / 2008 DBA experience to assist their Database specialist in providing administration and support of our client's database systems. This role is responsible for providing operational maintenance and support of the database systems including the Corporate Data Warehouse, Operational and Financial systems.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
-Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the database systems.
-Administer and support the database backup systems and continue to ensure regular and continuous backups occur.
-Support Microsoft SQL Reporting Services environment.
-Perform database and server fault diagnosis, problem management, analysis reporting and work with external parties to resolve complex problems.
-Support the facilitate migration of database solutions between database environments.
-Ensure the security and integrity of our client's data and information resources by following best practices for database administration standards and procedures.
-Work with various Internal and External parties to analyse, support and maintain IT solutions.
-Support and maintenance of the data warehouses and BI Solutions.
-Adhere to the ITIL best practices and release management process.
-Complete work requests received through the ITSM ticketing system.
-Provide technical expertise and knowledge to colleagues within the IT department.
The successful candidate will ideally be tertiary qualified and preferably have a Microsoft SQL Server (MCDBA) certification. You will have:
-1+ years Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 DBA experience (Essential)
Sound understanding of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 platforms (Essential)
-1+ years' experience in development of Business Intelligence using SSIS (Essential)
-1+ years' experience in using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) - (Essential)
-A good level of understanding of RDBMS concepts and technologies (Preferred)
-Experience in building and maintaining data warehouses and business intelligence (Preferred)
-Demonstrated knowledge of structured systems supports methodologies (ITIL) - (Preferred)
-2+ years' experience with backups and disaster recovery (Preferred)
